20 years after its first occurrence in Montreal 1995, the 21st International Symposium on Electronic Art ISEA2015 is coming back to Canada. Hosted by Simon Fraser University’s School of Interactive Arts + Technology and FCAT, ISEA2015 will present the most innovative and groundbreaking digital art works from all over the world. Among ISEA2015 partners – Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Goethe Institut, Institut Francais as well as Vancouver Art Gallery, New Music Festival, Mitacs and more.
ISEA2015 is a five-day symposium featuring over 450 speakers inĀ workshops, tutorials, panels, papers, artist talks and institutional presentations. It is showcasing a selection of over 160 cutting-edge digital artworks carefully selected by the international art and science community.
To frame the discussion about the artistic, scientific, technological and social manifestations of disruption as a cultural phenomenon, ISEA2015 will feature keynotes addresses by the visionary pioneers from various domains. Among them – Brian Massumi, Michael Connor, Dominique Moulon, Hildegard Westerkamp and Sara Diamond, with the The Yes Men closing the symposium with an address on the use of creative expression for subversion and disruption.
